Our story

Founded by two sisters.
Inspired by our mom.

Deepa Metlapalli & Pratima Vasiraju

Threads & Tables Collective was founded by sisters Deepa Metlapalli and Pratima Vasiraju in memory of our mom, Lata Surampudi, who passed away in 2024. Throughout her life, she worked with and supported charitable organizations in India. Her example taught us that helping others does not need to be complicated—it begins by noticing a need and making sure support reaches the right hands.

Lata was also an animal lover, and her compassion extended to both people and animals. We created Threads & Tables to carry her spirit forward through clothing and food drives for local organizations, along with occasional pet-supply drives when a local animal shelter confirms a need.

What we do

Practical help.
Local impact.

Simple ways for neighbors to share resources, show up, and create meaningful change together.

Clothing drives

Give gently used clothing a second life by helping neighbors find what they need with dignity.

Food bank support

Turn a grocery bag, a few volunteer hours, or a local partnership into dependable pantry support.

Collect · Pack · Deliver
03

Volunteer together

Make room for every kind of helper—from an hour at a drive.

Where donations go

Collected locally.
Given locally.

All usable clothing and unopened, unexpired food collected through our drives will be donated to local charities and food banks serving neighbors in need.

These are examples of organizations we may support—not confirmed partners. Before every drive, we will contact the receiving charity to confirm its current needs, accepted items, quantity limits, and drop-off arrangements. We will then let donors know exactly what they can bring and collect only what the charity has agreed to receive.
